About The Golden Social Club
The Golden Social Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing social isolation among older adults in Solano County, California.
We serve adults 60 and older who are experiencing social isolation or limited access to consistent companionship. This includes seniors living alone or aging in place, those with limited family or caregiver support, individuals transitioning after the loss of a spouse or close friend, and seniors who would benefit from cognitive engagement and relationship-based support in their homes.
We serve those who fall outside the reach of medical or task-based care programs but who still carry a very real need: the need to feel seen, valued, and connected.
We meet that need by thoughtfully pairing each senior with a trained companion who provides regular in-home visits built around the individual's interests, personality, and routine. Visits may include conversation, games, light errands, walking support, and other shared activities. Our model is preventive rather than reactive, stepping in before isolation turns into depression, cognitive decline, or hospitalization.
Who We Serve
We serve older adults (60+) and seniors who are experiencing social isolation, limited access to consistent companionship, or who simply need a trusted friend. This includes individuals aging in place or living with reduced social support.
What We Do
Through our team of trained companions, we provide in-home, non-medical companionship through friendly visits and shared activities such as conversation, games, walking support, errands, light household help, and other meaningful engagement. Each visit is tailored to individual interests and needs, with a focus on building trusted, ongoing relationships that help seniors remain connected, active, and supported in their own homes.
Why It Matters
Social isolation among older adults is a growing public health concern. The CDC links loneliness and social disconnection to increased risks for physical, cognitive, and emotional health challenges. Regular companionship helps older adults feel valued, supported, and confident as they age. The Golden Social Club offers a locally rooted, preventive approach that strengthens well-being while easing stress for families and caregivers.
Our Story of Love & Care
Allyson Carter
Founder & Executive Director
The Golden Social Club was formed in response to a simple but often overlooked reality: many older adults desire consistent human connection as they age, yet have limited access to it in their everyday lives. Our work centers on honoring older adults as individuals, supporting presence, routine, and meaningful connection within the comfort of their own homes.
This organization reflects a long-standing respect for the senior community and an understanding of how aging touches families across the lifespan.
As Founder and Executive Director, Allyson’s understanding of this work comes from walking alongside aging loved ones and listening closely to the experiences of older adults, shaping a care philosophy rooted in respect, presence, and meaningful connection. This perspective is further informed by professional experience in administrative leadership, program development, and community-based support services, with a strong emphasis on ethical, relationship-centered practice.
